HELP

I have a blog that was getting really super steady traffic for some sex terms in all g and live so I said what the hell. Went to GFY found an affiliate (signed up initially with pussycash) put it up, made the content a little more risque (youtube version of pr0n). I didnt have to wait long, and kaboom like traffic x10 and more than enough that i can sell them something and make good coin. Never done it before, but gee, the traffic is not the problem right now.

So now what? Should I just throw it all in and make the content as dirty as the ads?
I really cant find too much good about what to do with a sex blog, is there a place for finding that shit out? I am lost and pr0n frankly terrifies me for too many reasons to go into. but Im a spammer for life and I'm going to sell something to this traffic!

Man, you fishers, I love syndk8 and this place and perk's place and I think I have a chance to make this work. Anybody that can dredge up a tip or drop me a link. Im about to go Google up 'dialers' because I've never even heard of that before..holy Fish, help!

You say you have a youtube style site... well do you have a bunch of different "adult video" categories? If so, you need to have an advertisement targeting every category (ie. black, asian, teen, etc).  There are tons of different adult programs and I would say you have to sign up with alot of them in order to cover all your niches with high quality content.

Also, with a youtube style site, it is beneficial if you can pre-load an advertisement before all of your videos... or make it so when the video ends - the visitor can click through to the tour of the associated adult video site (ie. when the b@ngbus clip ends, the visitor can click thru to b).

I have a pretty good list of adult affiliate programs here, but what you promote is really dependant on what kind of traffic you have.

It sounds as though you have started to push dating/cams on your site already.. that is a good way to go as well.

Also in regards to dialers... you would really only be concerned with those if you have alot of foreign traffic.  Dialers are mostly useful to make $$ on visitors who do not have credit cards in their country.  In that case, you would generally try to find affiliate programs that pay you a $$ percentage of the dialer traffic you send them.

you did answer one question for me which is that i can feel comfortable covering multiple niches on the same website and then i can just use a banner serving plugin or mutiple page templates to put the targeted ads

do you have any opinions for programs with celebrity content

I just wanted to tell you that about a month after I posted this, I started noticing big traffic coming to my site for one search term, a celebrity I'd never heard of-- my autoposting plugin had found a hot new celebrity sex tape scandal. I found a program that was selling the tape, and went after it spamming Technorati with posts, created an edited youtube video of the sextape, that gets like 100,000 views a month.  When I put up the youtube video i added a 5 second bumper with my url to both ends. My type-in traffic went through the roof, and search engine referrals quickly followed. I made like $5000 in the first 4 days after I found the affiliate program, and then $20000/month until the end of the summer. I don't do anything to it now, google has banned it, but yahoo hasnt and it ranks real high for decent keywords related to the sextape, still making in the mid 4 figures every month.

Just wanted to share a success story...it all boils down to niche discovery, with something like a celebrity sex tape, if you are there when it emerges as an internet topic, its really pretty easy money - I was basically an authority site even though its just a cheesy porn blog, the aggregators like technorati and icerocket just flooded me with traffic. I run a blog right now with a ton of rss feeds autoposting to it, just so i can use stats to track news feeds and see if anything starts hitting big...

July and August which were the months where I was really promoting it...July had 216,297 page loads to the blog which my statcounter interpreted as about 74000 visitors - the affiliate program reported getting over 58000 uniques - once they got there they converted at 1:93

August had 156,806 visitors and 55,000 uniques sending 43,435 to the affiliate program where they converted at 1:77 - I made more money on less traffic in August.

I posted by hand to the blog and supplemented it with some gossip feeds, and a couple of celebrity feeds - the adult affiliates are rapidly getting better at having rss feeds available but this program doesn't. I modified the wordpress installation (theloop.php) so between every post there was a screenshot of the youtube video and if you clicked on it, it went straight to the tour. I used the tour rather than the join page because the celebrity stuff seems pretty sketchy, and I wanted the visitor to keep seeing visible feedback that they were headed toward what they were trying to see. And I used a great plug-in, wp-sticky, to keep my most popular post at the top of all the time, I slowly added a few banners, a webmaster referral link and stuff like that to that popular post.

The thing about this was: anybody could have done it. I'm an experienced SEO, but that didn't have shit to do with this. I didnt and still don't know shit about the adult industry, but that didn't matter either. I had an uncompetitive niche and I had a program that fit perfectly with it, and I made more money that John Chow for two months.
