Never done anything much in this area - kind of see it as being one of the toughest markets to get into, but would welcome some discussion from people who know as to the best way to get started.

My own views are the only way to go is niche's - mainstream being far too heavily saturated - which lets face it is not rocket science!!!

played with this a while back.

there are a gazzilion terms to go after which is good.

First of as you say go after niche. The usual sex browser is as dumb as Fish so try all the tricks, redirects, popups etc. If you dont the merchants will. I had one that made money of phone dialesr and i made a cut of that.

This is a whole MASSIVE area on its own.

Once we get going on this then it may be an idea for us to throw in some sub boards so we can start breaking out the stuff like diallers etc

Interesting section. I did a post that I wrote up on another forum, so instead of sending you there I just scraped it here for you all:

"In 2004 I spoke at Internext Expo (florida) on SEO and SEM.If you’re within the industry of adult promotions, I highly recommend getting to an Internext Expo to find out what’s going on in the latest affiliate deals to be had.

Online porn is the single largest revenue generating industry online today, thus the most difficult to make a living from, the competition is fierce….everyone is offering the $1.99 sign up special. Unfortunately this is also an industry where ppl are always looking for something free, be it TGP’s, web cams or video. Your choice of affiliate sign-up will weight heavily on the content that is provided to you. Make sure when you investigate this area that you find a company that will offer you multi splash page landing setups so you can utilize as many sites as possible. Carve a specific niche and get promoting…aggressively!!!

For anyone just getting into this area to generate revenue, you have a tough battle ahead of you and to have one cloaked site WONT cut it. Aside from promoting your sites on the 3 big search engines YMG there is also and underlining community within that industry that regulare porn users surf, find that community and get involved. For starters, get your sites going with The Hun and Project Voyeur. Also look into the AVN PPC network for a small amount you can gauge allot of information with traffic flow patterns.

Within this industry you MUST crave a special niche that is targeted per site. I wont get into keywords here, you can image what they are but I will recommend that you stay away from promoting in the terms of “free” and the “P” word….those will not gather you any conversions ….. After all that’s what you should be after.

Most content providers will offer you a variety of through up pages to choose from, utilize them all….and get as many targeted niche domain names as possibly. Promoting adult is not a 9-5 job, expect long hours and/or a good budget spend.

Email marketing in this industry still retains allot of Spam influence and is usually detected by most email app catchers out there. Usually most of this email Spam is generated out of Poland, Russia and various other Euro countries that will offer USA content providers a very intricate email path that is totally disposable.

The easiest one to get into is TGP’s , these are basically “stills” or camera shots. Videos are next, and then followed by web cams. This industry is driven by graphics and with the ability now to through up images off a phone, thus producing more amateur site content out there then ever before. Cloaking is a must within adult, since crawlers can't read images; you have to deliver the most targeted content in text possible.

First define the niche you want to target.

Second prepare to have 10 sites to start all with specific , different landing pages on each, make sure the company offers you lots of choices, if not request more landing pages, so no 2 sites look the same

Third, once your sites are set, forget about Y,M,G for now, target your niche within the industry offerings itself, get into adult forums, investigate top adult directories, find the main networks that are setup and plan to state you will be coming out with a network offering as well.

Fourth, get to cloaking, don’t expect much if anything from google, you wont make money there, MSN and Yahoo are bad BUT within the community is your first target promotion, get the links, links, links…create a few banner adds that have the cloaked link attached but still redirect the end user to your many landing page.

Fifth, in about 30 days (if you are doing this full time) be prepared to launch another 10 sites out the gate, targeting a slight variation on your niche, stay focused and once again do harvest your keywords that are generic, it wont help.

That’s now your intro to adult, millions will be competing with you and you must treat this nowadays to be in for the long haul, you wont make any really money for over a year and by then you may find that the network of sites (matrix) you created, probably in the 100’s of sites by now is worth selling off back to a content provider, that’s when you will be able to cash out
Hope that sheds some light"

Cheers

On the plus side there is alot of traffic available in this market, I put up some scraper sites last year (80 of them) and was getting 50k uniques a day with basicly no work, I did have alot of trouble converting that traffic though and it was barely worth the effort.

First rule about porn niches, don't talk about porn niches Tongue

Seriously though, if you want to get into the porn game, there are a million entry points:

Designing & Submitting Galleries to TGP's/MGP's
"" & "" Freesites to LinkLists
Starting your own linklist, tgp, mgp, blog, review site, tube site, etc

^ And those are the most common... if you can think outside of the box, then you are onto something.
