but a site that is just a bunch of products isn't offering a lot of value.
Maybe, maybe not. Did you ever watch a bunch of women looking thru a catalog? They talk and gabble on as they look at the images. They aren't reading anything at all. Then one says "hey look at this pair of panties. It's just what Janine needs." Then they will read the description, check the price, so on.
My best datafeed aff site is a catalog. All of the beautiful images, very little text.
I'll say this much though, if you can provide something of value and uniqueness
on your site that gets people interesting, and linking, you're that much closer
to moving the product as you'll do better in natural serps.
Agree 100% on the get people coming back. I don't have the types of products that gather up links. Mostly consumable, everyday, hohum stuff. No one in their right mind (except me of course) would blog about a catalog site selling frilly undies. Mrs. Housewife from Des Moines doesn't write a blog.
I don't know about doing better in the serps. I hear rumors that the big three are contemplating giving a score increase if the organic link is clicked a bunch. I don't think it will stick tho. Too many ways that can be gamed.
I think the best thing I can hope to accomplish is to get some high pr bl's. And continue to expand in my niche(s).
I am open to any suggestions that anyone would care to give tho.
