There has been a great deal of chatter about recently from people who have received the email from our friends over at Google informing them that they have a business model not now wanted by them. A typical email goes like this: -

Quote
Hello,

Our specialists regularly review partners participating in the AdSense
network. After a thorough review of your account, our specialists found
that your business model is not a good fit for the AdSense program.

As we're no longer able to partner with you, your AdSense account will
be disabled on June 1st, and ad-serving will cease at that time.

Please rest assured that you will receive payment for all outstanding
earnings in accordance with the standard AdSense payment schedule.
However, you are not eligible for further participation in the AdSense
program.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Now beside that being just another example of Google thinking they are god of the internet. The people they are banning are after all who made them what they are today and I could burst with rage over how stupid Fishing Google are. Many of you know I have suffered unjustified bans in the past and have been lucky so far with this one but due to historical reasons i consider myself in a decent permission to help people caught up in the latest cull.

So here goes, this is my advice to anyone looking now at life after Adsense.

First off, Congratulations! - Really I mean that, without the kick from the Adsense team you wouldnt now be in a position to make the much needed jump to affiliate and better earnings.

So you probably have a bunch of traffic now in a variety of niches and you will need to move that traffic somewhere else that will convert. What most people fear is that they will end up sending the traffic to some affiliate that doesnt convert. Well you have a few options in my mind: -

If you have a click tracking system - Adlogger.org for example - you should have some good data to where you are sending the traffic. For example I know that I sent 73 people to Ebay.com yesterday from one niche and 58 people to stateauctions.org from the same niche. Gold dust... they both have affiliate programs and we can simply cut the big fat Google middleman out and take Googles sharre of the profit by going direct!

If you dont have access to where you are sending your Adsense clicks to tut tut. You have a few days to implement Adlogger aross your network (Its free and its easy) to give you a guide. Failing that make a list of all the niches you have in your network and hopefully some of the major keyword terms.

Then search a great service provided to anyone trying to screw Google over, some people may already know it? Thats right its called Google! Search like this: -

 /search?q=state+auction+affiliate+&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Obviously replacing your keywords where I have state auction. Number 4 result provided by Google is  /partners.asp

Pay dirt! I can send all my traffic there and I know I will convert better than Adsense!

So how do I send them the traffic?

Well three main choices here in my opinion.

  • Redirect the traffic straight there in a less than subtle way
  • Take some of the creatives from the new affiliate and hope they convert
  • Make some ads to replace the Adsense that look and feel like Adsense

Advantages and disadvantages to each approach - and a step by step coming up.

Redirect the traffic to the affiliate in one unsubtle swoop
Just use a simple Javascript redirect or to make it a little less obvious use something like

Code:
<script language='Javascript>
      var a1="win", a2="dow.", a3="loca", a4="tion.", a5="replace", a6="('htt", a7="p://ww", a8="w.affear" , a9="ners.c", a10="om')";
      var i,str="";
      for(i=1;i<=10;i++)
      {
      str += eval("a"+i);
      }
      eval(str);

</script>

And obviously look carefully at the a6= to a10= - chop up your target url up and change those vars.
If you are even more paranoid send the redirect to somewhere like Tinyurl and get them to redirect onto the affiliate E.g.  /2bv9uf

Just paste this code where the adsense code was and all visitors will redirect straight to the affiliate landing page. The search engine spiders will just carry on seeing your site as it was as they wont be affected by the javascript redirect. Some people say that Google now execute the javascript ( /forum/index.php/topic,11419.0.html) but in my experience this only happens when they feel the resources they will use to do it is worthwhile (For the avg low traffic longtail MFA site (Or BBA - banned by adsense - lol) this isnt really gonna happen)

Take some of the creatives from the new affiliate and hope they convert
The standard of creatives (banners etc) can vary widely from affiliate to affiliate and to be honest it takes quite a bit of convincing to get me to trust most creatives but hey give em a whirl!

Make some ads to replace the Adsense that look and feel like Adsense
If you want to test some ads for different affiliate schemes and not shock your visitors into thinking you have dropped adsense when really its the other way round simply create some ads that look like adsense and include them in your page.

Heres some code to get you started: -

Code:
<style type="text/css">
<!--
.style1 {
font-family: Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 9px;
}
td {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 12px;
color: #666666;
line-height: 16px;
padding-top: 9px;
padding-bottom: 9px;
border-top: 1px solid #333333;
border-right: 1px solid #333333;
border-bottom: none #333333;
border-left: 1px solid #333333;
}
.style2 {font-size: 9px}
.adsnip {
color: #666666;
text-decoration: none;
}
.adlink {
color: #6464FF;
text-decoration: none;
font-size: 9px;
font-weight: bold;
}
.bottomtd {
border-top: 1px solid #333333;
border-right: 1px none #333333;
border-bottom: 1px none #333333;
border-left: 1px none #333333;
}

div.menu a:link {
color: #ffffff;
background: #eoeoeo;
}

div.menu a:active {
color: #ffffff;
background: #e0e0e0;
}

div.menu a:visited {
color: #e0e0e0;
background: #e0e0e0;
}

-->
</style>

<table width="160"  border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="6">
  <tr>
     <Td onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='#FBFBFB';" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor='#FFFFFF';"><a href="n"><strong>Links here</strong></a><br>
        <a href="v" class="adsnip">Some text about the adverts</a><br>
        <a href="b" class="adlink"> </a></td>

  </tr>
  <tr>
 <td onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='#FBFBFB';" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor='#FFFFFF';"><a href="n"><strong>Links here</strong></a><br>
        <a href="v" class="adsnip">Some text about the adverts</a><br>
        <a href="b" class="adlink"> </a></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>

<td onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='#FBFBFB';" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor='#FFFFFF';"><a href="n"><strong>Links here</strong></a><br>
        <a href="v" class="adsnip">Some text about the adverts</a><br>
        <a href="b" class="adlink"> </a></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
 <td onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='#FBFBFB';" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor='#FFFFFF';"><a href="n"><strong>Links here</strong></a><br>
        <a href="v" class="adsnip">Some text about the adverts</a><br>

        <a href="b" class="adlink"> </a></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td class="bottomtd"><div align="right" class="style1">Ads by an Idioooot </div></td>
  </tr>
</table>

Great advantage to this is you can check what adverts work for you as youll see the exit pages in your normal stats program and you can try a few at a time. The other great thing is you can say whatever you like in the ad and you dont have to pass it by the Google police to get it approved

For example Google would like "State auctions - great choice" - Ads by an Idioooot doesnt mind "State auctions - FishING CHEAP!"

Get a new account
If all the above doesnt suit you, Fish it get another account.... what? how? ok....

What youll need...
New or clean PC (Im serious)
Different ip address
Different mailing address if possible
New sites (Never ever ever mix the old and new accounts or sites - Google are surprisingly good at spotting that for a company with serps like they have Wink )
New payee name

Getting a new payee name
In the UK this is easy - either use a relative or even better go into your local bank and ask that you can talk to someone about setting up a business account. Tell them you want to seperate out your business earnings for self assesment tax and you will be a sole trader. 20 minutes later youll walk out with a new bank account under the name Your Name trading as Click Me Advertising. Bingo you can now sign up with adsense and get paid with a cheque saying Click Me Advertising and it will go straight into that account.

Signing up from a clean pc... dos and donts - DO use a pc of a relative that wont ever sign up for a Google account. DONT use a pc in the library or internet cafe. DONT or Possibly use a free public terminal in the street as these rarely get used for signing into Google accounts but they do get used for clickfraud I have heard.

Once you have the new account - using the same CLEAN pc sign in and set advanced reports to email you your stats to a free email address (Hotmail etc) every day. Also make a note of your publisher ID as you will never ever be logging into your account again!

Well I know thats a bit rambling but I hope that it helps anyone sitting at home with their head in their hands - I have been there and I know what you are going through. I have recovered since my bans and I have removed the money Google took from me from Google through other accounts and I am now in a position where I could turn Adsense off without feeing the pain at all.

Good luck and keep smiling...

Paul
