Could be the start of an interesting conversation about sneaky things people may have tried to do with P2P

i once had half a hard drive full of fake p2 files that were actually html javascript jumpers......  and i KNOW other people here have done even better things   Cool

@jazzy - what you missing about torrents?

Thanks for the replies.

tykoon - you are right about searching for the answer

However I should explain that I do research and study the area before I post a question. I also have a tendency to ask an all-encompassing question mainly to make sure I understand the process.

My understanding is that torrents are a method to exchange information through file sharing and the users of the site upload the files.

Seoidiot - What is of interest to me is: what is the best way to use it for marketing purposes. Do you post a short report with links, or maybe an ebook? What links do you use; direct to merchant, redirect, website? How successful has it been for you? How often do you do it? Etc.

Hopefully that is a better explanation of my needs.

Here is an old way to make money with torrent
you upload the files and you secure them with a password
you put a hint about the password like "GO to this page, enter your zip code and the password will be the first word on the next page"
Of course you send people to one of those zip submits pages

Be a bit creative and you can make a good amount of cash with this stuff.  Grin

Hi

Answers to the following would be helpful.

1. Are your reports .doc .txt or pdf?

2. Are they zipped or unzipped?

3. How do you deal with the bandwinth requirements - ie what hosting or service you use if any?

Thanks

Dammit quit spilling my magic beans!

Usually I tend to exploit a new market until it's too hard, then spill all the info about it. Exploiting torrent marketing is still fairly easy, so I'm keeping it zipped up about torrents. One thing of note is that the captchas on most of the torrent sites are trivial to break/solve. That's all I'm going to say.

LOL that brings back memories... back before the p2p days I had an ftp server with mp3s on it.  You had to sign up for porno "newsletters" to get the password.

I made like $200 before some idiot complained to the porno company.  Anyway, it wasn't bad for a 15 year old.
