1  The Lounge - Just Talking about Stuff / Introduce Yourself / Re: Greetings from Caesar Cigars on: February 11, 2008, 07:44:35 AM
Hi my name is Tim.  A friend of mine told me I should check this webiste.  I have a website.   .  I'm looking for new ways to get my name out there.  I will admit I dont know much about Affiliate programs but I would love to hear about some of ways I can improve traffic on my site and make money advertising for others.

Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim  [waver]

Are you talking about starting an affiliate program for your own site? The easy way is to get something implemented in your shopping cart software so you can track the sales. Check with who ever made your shopping cart and see if they already got an affiliate plugin.
After that you spend a couple of days submitting your program to all the affiliate directories out there and then you sit back and watch all the sales come in  Cheesy
You can also caugh up with a larger amount of $$ and go the CJ or Shareasale way. I'm not sure how much the cost is, but they will handle all the tracking and payments for you...

Well let's get started then!

1.  You don't get enough traffic.....

First you want to get all the free traffic you possible can get. Optimize your site and get listed in the search engines. Submit it to directories and try to get a lot of links and mention your site in forums and remember to always include your links in your forum signature. bronnamdi is a classic example  24

When that's taken care of you could go to adwords and buy additional visitors. I don't.. I prefer to build more and pull more free traffic.

Anything else before we go to #2?

I'm getting tired... I'll be right back.

I never had any luck with them, but I have only heard good about them until now. Did you contact them about those sales kissmyblueass?

9  Affiliate Talk / General Affiliate Chat / How's your christmas sale going? on: December 11, 2007, 05:18:29 AM
Google thought it would be cool to wipe out 90% of my BH sites and the remaining 10% wasn't exactly the kind of stuff you go out and buy for Christmas, so I missed most of the fun.

I run a couple of WH shops and they have been busier than the last two years holiday seasons.

How has your sale been?

I think being able to control the landing page would be nice but what happens when you have 10000 products? I'm a noob redirecting to merchant's product page like Ekim. Would appreciate any great advice Smiley

You can use affilistore or teesee or doinks scripts here:   /forum/designcode/list-of-scripts-to-use-for-your-affiliate-data-feeds-t431.0.html

They will all create one page for each product.
I'm also looking into webmerge right now. It looks like, with a little help from excel, that can whip thousands of pages up in no time as well.

It looks good... It will be interesting to see how your conversion will be affected.
How have your traffic and conversion been the last couple of days since your first post?

1. Find a niche you want to promote.
2. Build a website over the subject
3. Sign up with CJ + other networks.
3. Learn basic seo and get decent listings for your site in the SE's
4. Cash your checks
5. Send me a fat cut for helping you out  Cheesy

yeah id go with linkshare or even cpaempire the only reason i wouldnt suggest shareasale as much is their stats really blow and stats will be very important in what your learning

Shareasales stats are really annoying, but it has one good feature I haven't seen it anywhere else. You can see the visitors referrer url for each individual sale. That's very useful at least if you send the visitors direct to the merchant from the SE's.
