I know we all would love to have 1st spot on Google or Yahoo but being a nub and poor I cant afford to play with the keywords in my niche. How to play? Well one way is to buy traffic from secondary and tertiary SE's. You have to be careful and I have read mixed results from many of these but I have tried these few and have achieved some results. I did not break even with them but did get close. I am no expert at this and seem to find myself in a constant state of learning so here goes:

I can bid on decent keywords for pennies to the dollar compared to google, yahoo etc. I dont think conversion would eb as high but its a place to start and get going especially in some of those niche keywords you guys play with

please add your prefered SE in this category. Think it will serve us well as a community

When I was first starting out (about a year ago) I tried sending some Mamma traffic to Adsense landing pages. Nobody clicked. Not one person. It was insane.

Plus, 50-60% of the people were from distant countries, so I'm not even sure if any ads were showing for them anyway.

In my opinion, these 2nd tier search engines are (or at least were) a total waste of money.

If the traffic was better you can bet that other people would be jumping all over it. There's a reason why the bids are so low.

"Contextual" means your ads will show when somebody searches exactly for what you target as your keywords.

I just wanted to put my .02 in on this.  I am a complete newb (just started this stuff mid Dec. 06), so I have been trying various methods to make money.  I have lost money on everything I have tried so far, EXCEPT adsense arbitrage using 7search.

It hasn't been a lot of money and it hasn't been a lot of traffic, however, I have made about $25 net since the beginning of February by bidding on keywords on 7search and sending them to my mini-website that has adsense ads on it.  Basically, I make money because the keywords are more expensive on Google than they are on 7search.

$25 isn't going to let me retire anytime soon, but it is the only positive money maker I have so far.

Just thought I would share that.  I need to put it in my Journal, but I felt it was a little more appropriate here.

Best of luck,

Benjamin
